unable to access internet from non-root accounts

i use fedora 1 and hav configured my adsl connection by using a pppoe device. i am able to access the net from the root login but am unable to do so from other logins. i hav checked the option in network control panel that allows other users to use it but to no use. i use 'adsl-start' command to activate it and this command returns as a invalid command if i try it from other logins. even if i try it using "su" at terminal giving the root pswd, it comes bac as invalid. the pppoe device which is present in the root network device device is not there in other users network device control window. is there a way out? thankin you in advance

FC1 is pretty old and doesn't get patches anymore, so you might considder upgrading to fc3 or fc4.

Try su - (with a dash)
Is your device listed in /etc/fstab ?
Sorry, I can't help you any more than this.
