Getting a laptop...

http://h50025.www5.hp.com/hpcom/au_e...3_PV297PA.html

I am wondering how good is Linux support on laptops, specially the linked one above. I am thinking of getting that one.

you'll want to step up on the RAM there you can get 512 MB for around 40 -55 Buck US. Also What type of wireless does it come with ( if it comes with some wireless device)? Research that beforeyou go dumping some $$$ into a notebook. I bought a Medion Notebook for $700 brand new.

40 GB harddrive
256 MB RAM PC2700 200PIN
4 USB 2.0 ports
VGA out
Intel Centrino mobile technology with interrelated Intel® Pentium® M processor 735, Intel® 855GM chipset, Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG network connection (802.11b/g) and extended battery life capability
realtek 10/100 faster ethernet
56K modum (never tested or ever used)
15 tft dusplay 1024X768
DVD-ROM/CD-RW
synaptics touch pad
PCMCIA Type II slot
S-Video port
Microphone input
Line out with S/P DIF
Lock
