Converting a FC4 dvd to FC4 cd set?

Hello,

I am downloading FC4 dvd. A friend needs FC4 cd set. Can I convert FC4 dvd to FC4 cd set, or does FC4 cd set have to be downloaded separately?

Debian has Jigdo which allows creating dvds from CD set or CD set from dvds? is there something similar available for Fedora Core? If not, what are my options other them downloading cd too.

Thanks
Prem

I have jigdo templates and image for CD creation using mounted DVD iso.
But I do not know how to place them here.

Now I know, after reading forum FAQ.

May be someone having CD's needs DVD. Here are files to use with jigdo-file in attachment.

Procedure to create FC4-i386-DVD.iso

1. First of all, copy all files from CD's (extract):
FC4-i386-disc1.iso
FC4-i386-disc2.iso
FC4-i386-disc3.iso
FC4-i386-disc4.iso
FC4-i386-rescuecd.iso
to a directory, let's say I:\FC4\, one by one without overwriting.

2. Run command
jigdo-file mi -i FC4-i386-DVD.iso -j FC4-i386-DVD.jigdo -t FC4-i386-DVD.template I:\FC4\

3. Verify resulting image with sha1sum

The attach FC4-i386-DVD.ZIP is no longer valid. Could someone post it again? Or send it to maximus500@mail.pt? Thanks in advance.

I have a working copy of the dvd (it came with a linux book)

I want to convert it to cd's.

But when I tried to download the first file posted here it gives me a corrupt file.

hi all,

i downloaded the jigdo and template files from prem1000's link to create a dvd image from the cd images. there are a couple hiccups in the process, though, that i'm hoping someone can help me sort out.

jigdo with the 'mi' switch reports that there are 4 files missing, but when i run with the 'pma' switch, only two files are returned. these two files (both are named TRANS.TBL in different paths) do not exist in those paths on any of the mirrors i have browsed online.

i'm guessing that somehow these files got mistakenly added to the template. i did try renaming jigdo's output temp file (.iso.tmp) to just .iso, but the sha1 sum doesn't match that provided by fedora. any ideas?

tia.

have you guys tried the network install for fedora? it saves bandwith as well... (but its only good if you have broadband). You download the rescue cd, then run the install from there... I use http and point to the kernel.org mirrors (they are the fastest for me)... then pick my settings and packages and it'll only download what it needs. For a full working desktop it takes about 30 min for me.

I know some people don't have broadband or access to the web in some instances in which case this won't help but I thought I'd throw the idea out there just in case you can take advantage of it.

PROBLEM SOLVED: Answer attached

I have a similar issue to that or nungus.

I did the whole jigdo thing with the templates provided and found that it created the FC4.... .iso.tmp file without any huge hassles (1855/1856 files).

Code:
D:\jigdo>jigdo-file mi -i FC4-i386-DVD.iso -j FC4-i386-DVD.jigdo -t FC4-i386-DVD
.template D:\FC4\
Found 1855 of the 1856 files required by the template
Copied input files to temporary file `FC4-i386-DVD.iso.tmp' - repeat command and
 supply more files to continue
When I remove the .tmp and burn the iso through the [shudder] Nero on a winxp [/shudder] I get an error (in nero) and a non booting DVD (on 3 machines).

The entered block size does not correspond to the image length. The Block size may be wrong. Ignore or Fix ? and

db7f49cdb9c7c5038c06e0e4c2bcb2cd18656d01 *FC4-i386-DVD.iso

When I go to fix it I'm asked about the type of image and Block size....

My concern lies with the ISO in that (with limited exp) I assumed that the ISO contained the boot sector info.

Not sure where to go from here.

Any help is appreciated.

UPDATE: Found the answer Courtesy of here...

Burning a DVD now... - its all good.
