Question FC4 and dell inspiron 6000

Hello,

I have installed FC4 on my laptop (Dell inspiron 6000). All works fine in text mode, but I can't run startx.

The videocard is an intel graphics media accelerator 900. So, I tried to install the driver, but I have an error during compile dri drivers : "The drivers can"t be install without the latest kernel modules".
I don't understand this message.
I tried to install dri rpm, but no success.

I have no idea to resolve this problem.
Did you have this problem, have you found a solution ?

I tried to install FC2 and redHat 9, but I have the same problem.

Can you help me, please ?

Thanks in advance.

Carine.

do you have the most recent kernel version? if not, then update it with yum. that'd be a good start to sort out the kernel modules issue.
there's a great deal of information on the web, much of which can be found on http://linux-laptop.net - it won't always be fedora specific, but the principles still apply, provided you replace commands like "emerge" appropriately.
