I dont know where to get the public key for installing xcdroast.

I gave the following command yum install xcdroast .

But the installation stopped with the error -- publick key cannot be found.

Help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks

go to www.fedorafaq.com

go to the section on using yum.

It has a tutorial on how to import the various public keys.

IMdeemvp I read what you said . I did all that still that problem exit. I used yum to install xine,xmms but when i use for xcdroast or anyother software . this problem arises.
the following error pops up:

Dependencies Resolved
Transaction Listing:
Install: xcdroast.i386 0:0.98a15-8
Is this ok [y/N]: y
Downloading Packages:
warning: rpmts_HdrFromFdno: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 4f2a6fd2
public key not available for //var/cache/yum/updates-released/packages/xcdroast-0.98a15-8.i386.rpm

my yum.conf file looks like this

main]
cachedir=/var/cache/yum
debuglevel=2
logfile=/var/log/yum.log
pkgpolicy=newest
distroverpkg=redhat-release
tolerant=1
exactarch=1
retries=20
obsoletes=1
gpgcheck=1

[freshrpms]
name=Fedora Linux $releasever -$basearch - freshrpms
baseurl=http://ayo.freshrpms.net/fedora/linux/$releasever/$basearch/freshrpms
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1

# PUT YOUR REPOS HERE OR IN separate files named file.repo
# in /etc/yum.repos.d

and i did use the rpm --import http://freshrpms.net/packages/RPM-GPG-KEY.txt as a root.

Can anybody help me how to sort this problem.

Each yum repository uses its own GPG key, you must import the keys for all repositories you use, including the standard Fedora Core ones. Do:
Code:
rpm --import /usr/share/doc/fedora-release-3/RPM-GPG-KEY*
