I have the same card and so far the answer has been no, under any distro. Luckily my systemboard has two onboard 10/100 NICs, including a 3COM 390* series.

ANSWER: Cross Ship

WPC11 ver. 4... forgetaboutit.

The answer is simply to call Linksys customer support and ask to have the ver. 4 swapped for ver. 3. Version 3 is already preconfigured for Fedora. Just about plug and play to set up.

Good luck.

Brian

Just change to V.3

I've given up. This is what I ended up doing:

Call Linksys at 949-271-5461. No need to call, they will just tell you to go to their support section at linksys.com and click on "warranty support". Fill in their form, send the evil card to them, and wait for the v.3 to get to you by mail.

If anyone finds a way of getting this card to work, please post it here for future users. I'm curoius about it anyway.

Thanks for the replys

Wireless support for Linux

A company named Linuxant (www.linuxant.com) has a product called a driver loaded that will allow you to use your Windows XP wireless card drivers under Linux. You can try it for free for 30 days and pay $20 for an unlimited license. I use it with my Linksys wpc54g card and it will also work with the Linksys wpc11 version 4 card. It is well worth the $20 dollars to have my wireless card working under Linux. The driver loaded is reported to work with just about any wireless card. Under Fedora, for some reason, I must remove and re-insert my wireless card after booting to get it to connect to my Linksys access point. I didn't need to do that under Redhat 9. A minor nuisance. Other than that, it works perfectly. I am not an open source purist. I don't mind having to pay $20 to get my wireless hardware running under Linux.

This sux...

OK, here's my delima, I'm trying to set up a Linksys wireless WPC54G pcmcia card on my Sony laptop with an Athlon m/b. I've followed all the directions on Rocky's page (http://www.rockytop.net/tavi/index.php?page=WPC54G) and the associated links. The steps work great but when I get to the ndiswrapper -l command it indicates the following:

Installed ndis drivers:
bcmwl5 hardware not present
bcmwl5 hardware present, fuzzy

FUZZY? It doesn't have hair?

Ok I went to the sourceforge page (http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/) and clicked on the Redhat/Fedora packages can be found here. (http://dag.wieers.com/packages/kerne...e-ndiswrapper/ - about 8 times) and found there isn't an ndiswrapper/utility combo for Fedora Core 2 (or am I missing something).

I went ahead and downloaded the closest thing (date wize).

Can someone please tell me what the heck is fuzzy?
