updating errors. conflict with package perl-5.8.5-9

i'm running up2date for the 1st time, i didn't know which packages to select or which not to, so i just simply selected all and forward and then i got this. it wouldn continue after this, i did a search on the forum and nothing came up. so i just ran 'yum update' (which is still running), but figured i'd ask incase i screw up something.

fresh install. though not exactly that freshed, about a month back.

I get the same problem as well. It's not a fresh install, its a bit stale and I've got the complication that I'm running a x86_64 machine with a few i386 binaries (i.e. for mozilla and its plug-ins). I looked into removing perl and then installing the new version but that's uglyu given all the dependencies of other programs on perl. Any ideas of what would happen if I do a force and then remove the old perl?

It looks like there was a mistake with the x86_64 distribution and the included the wrong perl rpm. Removing it seems to solve the problem
