Hi everyone,
My first post here, so I'd better introduce myself. I've been working with Linux for hardly a year, if you can call trying out all major distributions working that is. I have had experience using FC2/3, Mandrake 10, Debian, Ubuntu 4.10/5.04, Lindows 4.5, SuSE 9.1/9.3 and Gentoo. Finally settling for Gentoo on my home computer, I have been using it ever since.
Now, I got quite recently a VPS server with CentOS-3 installed. I want to run PHP5, MySQL 4.1 etc... on it, but of course CentOS-3 packages don't have that; so I wondering how to upgrade my distribution out of SSH console using Yum. I can't change the kernel, but I don't think that will pose a great problem.
So, how do I upgrade from CentOS-3 to Fedora Core 3 (and later 4 as soon as it released)?
Thanks for help
