Booting FC3 from floppy disk or CD?

I've tried booting Fedora Core 3 (FC3) from floppy disk, but always receive the message:

"Direct booting from floppy no longer supported"

Now I'm curious if I can instead boot my installation of Fedora Core 3 from CD?

I'm using two hard drives, one with Windows XP Pro, and the other with FC3.

I want to be able to boot without using GRUB (as GRUB has damaged "NTLDR" and made Windows XP unbootable in the past for me).

Can I make a "boot CD" for Fedora Core 3, so that it boots FC3 whenever it is inserted into the CD-ROM drive?

I am assuming that the "Fedora Core 3 Disk 1" does not boot to Fedora Core 3, just the Anaconda installation program?

Thanks,

Paul Panks

a couple of comments.

if grub makes winXP unbootable, there is a very simple way to remove grub and have winXP load as if it was the only OS. of course this assumes the XP partition is intact.

you can boot into FC3 in safe mode by inserting the FC3 CD1 and typing linux rescue at the boot prompt.

i don't know how much linux you know, but if you're just playing around with it, you might want to try out one of the live CD distributions. they are distributions that run right off the cd without installing anything ( you dont even need a hard disk). I believe knoppix is the most famous (www.knoppix.org ).
