shut down problem

when i try to shutdown the pc i get this:
acpi_poweroff called and pc stucks there waiting from me to press the button on the case in order to shutdown.how can i fix it?

try adding

acpi=off

to your kernel commandline. Edit

/boot/grub/grub.conf

and add

acpi=off

to the

kernel /vmlinuz.....

line belonging to your kernel version.

If you just did a fresh installation of fc3 your fix will be upgrading to the latest kernel becuase the kernel that came with fedora 3 when released was broken....
