LEADTECH TV2000 XP Tv card in fc3 - Australia?

I've just installed fc3 on a new computer i just built. I had a Leadtech Winfast TV2000 XP card in there and after instalationi tied opening tvtime, which was installed during my fc3 install. After messing with it for ges now i can;t get it to work. I am located in australia so chose that channl configuration. All i get is a blue screen saying no signal. I know however for a fact that there is a signal as i've use the same card just before on a windows system i was using with mediaportal. I wanto to get this card working s i can watch tv. I don't know what chip it has ether sorry but iknow it of the bttv type as i found this out a while ago when tryong to set up Mythtv.

I've looked at couple of post elsewhere about other bttv cards and they said that the card is being recognised incorrectly as another card and usually would cause these kinds of errors.

this post below about fc2 looked helpful but none of these fixes worked.

It appears to be a bt878 or at least is recognized as such. Here is what i get from lsmod,. I hav also put below this the dmesg info from the logs.

I am using leadtek TV2000 XP and I live in Australia as well. Getting TVTime to work was supprisingly easy in the end, the card was working properley but TVTime was not set up for it. I have been using TVTime with TV2000XP for months now so I'll try and remember how I set it up and run you through it.
First start TVTime and right click on its window, select 'Channel management' then select 'Disable signal detection'. Now select 'Change frequency table' and then select 'Australia'. Next go back to the main menu and select 'Input configuration' then select 'Television standard' then "PAL'. Now exit the menu and then using the arrow keys browse the channels untill you find an active one, then select the 'Channel management' menu again and select 'renumber current channel'. Give the channel a number that corresponds to it. Once you have found all the channels then deselect the inactive ones by un-checking 'Current channel active in list' in the 'Channel management' menu for each one. Now the only channels left will be the tuned in ones so with the roll of the mouse wheel or using the arrow keys you can switch between them.
I hope that this helps, I might have missed a step or two in these instructions but I think that it will get you on track to watching tv soon. The channel setings on my computer for Sydney are
'Channel 10' is 13
'Channel 9' is 11
'Channel 7' is 9
'Channel 2' is 3
'SBS' is 22

I have tried several apps for watching tv on Fedora and my favorite is TVTime I strongly recomend it

Thanks for replying very much ausie_fred. Please you were able to post.

Unfortunately after trying that it still does not ppearto work. After turnign of the signal detection i get the static (or snow type) screen. I changed it to pal and selected the australian frequency table. Then when i try goin g to the suggested channells i still just get static. I had allready been trying on those channells because thats what they were in mediaportal and i assumed they would be the same, as you have confirmed above. I alsoi tried random numbers as well in case they had been transposed higher. I really don't know whats going on. I also just ran yum update also which i thought might have made a difference with newer tvtime package etc, but no luck. I don't supose theres anything else could try?

/Edit
Should i try xawtv and see if i can get it working and us it; setp options in tvtime somehow.

Ok, I have one more suggestion. I couldnt remember if I did this when I first set up TVTime but you might want to try scanning for channels before browsing the channel list. After disabling signal detection in the channel management menu select the scan channels for signal option in the same menu. Maybe than you will have reception for the channels.
Best of luck.

Cheers ausie_fred once again. I'm not good at this, i should have mentioned before that i had tried the channel scan to no avail, previousely. I tried the whole cycle again just in case but no luck. I have had problems before with cards bt usuallythe screen is just green or black if it's not working. The now screen usually is a good sign but not this time I tried xawtv just to check and it appears to have the same results. If it worked so easily on your mobo maybe it's an interference problem, i've just put a new dvd writer in though i don't imagine that would interfer more than the cdrw.
i'm stumped. Glad that you werekind enough to give me pointers though thaks.

Edit : Maybe i should mention that it's sitting quite close to (but as far away as i can manage) from a wi-fi card and msi radeon 9250, could they be interfering or wold that just cause irq conflicts etc?
