Right Click the mplayer screen
Choose preferences
Click the fonts tab

click browse

go to /usr/share/fonts

select your font

click ok

close mplayer

Right click the mplayer screen

play the disc

then choose DVD -->Subtitle Language and select the language you want
This will enable subtitles

to disable uncheck the subtitles box

osd works, still no subtitles

I have set a font in the font dialog in the preferences menus. now the osd text works!
But the subtitle isn't working. Does the OSD and the subtitles use the same font? If so, it should work because I can see the OSD texts. perhaps subtile use a different font?
