Great! But I'm trying to install it and I get this message:

Quote:
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
1:firefox ########################################### [100%]
[Invalid UTF-8] Could not parse file '/usr/share/applications/alc.desktop': desk top entry contain line 'Comment[fr]=Cr\xe9ateur de liens ed2k d'aMule' which is not UTF-8
I can see it is some comment in a menu element created by aMule. I use aMule but not AmuleLinkCreator, so, how could delete the thing?

thanks

It's a usual fault, that is not important. The description uses wrong coding in the french part.

I did
Code:
rpm -Uvh firefox-1.0.4-20050509.i386.rpm
after saving the rpm from your pge. After closing Firefoz I coudn't run it any more. The directory /usr/lib/firefox-1.0.3 had been emptied, but for the plugins directory, and I had a new installation at /usr/lib/firefox, but it lacked some libraries and wouldn't start. So I removed the installation and now I'm back to 1.0.3

I've had good luck just installing it from the tar archive. You can download it from the Firefox page and run the installer.
After downloading the file just extract the files in it:
Code:
tar -zxvf firefox-1.0.4.installer.tar.gz
Then change to the firefox-installer directory that was created and run the install file:
Code:
./firefox
I've installed mine in a directory in my home directory but you'll need to be root to install it any where else. The tar archive contains all the libs and whatnot needed to run so you won't have any conflict or dependency problems as with the rpm.

This was my first try, but it gave me an error 'cos it couldn't open libxpstub.so. I guess I'll wait a couple of days, I'm reading lots of small problems with 1.0.4
Thanks anyway
