battery in laptop

my battery in my laptop is dead so i am using on ac power but screen keeps going ogg i think its some sort of power management thing. any one any ideas, if i get to screen quick enough and move mouse i can rescue it but after that its a rebbot. help please

Not sure if this will help but try this. Add noacpi to your boot kernel line. Or when up try ' chkconfig --level 345 acpid off '. This disables acpi from starting in runlevels 3 4 and 5.

hi mate i have fedora on screesn now how do i do this i only been on 1 hour!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are talking about the boot option then hit the ' e ' to edit the highlighted kernel. Then add noacpi to the end. Next I believe is hit ' b ' for boot read the options on the page to make sure. This only works for that boot. If it works then to make it pernement edit /boot/grub/grub.conf and add it to the boot line of the kernel you wish to use it on.
