I am not sure what info will specifically help but after an update a few days ago I lost alsa sound on my laptop (IBM ThinkPad a22m) under FC4t2.

In XMMS I can switch to OSS for sound and I get music just fine. In the rest of Gnome though I hear nothing any more (ie: Gaim, etc...). Failing a fix for alsa, can anyone tell me what I need to do to make OSS the default?

I'll reply with all the output from 'lspci' and 'dmesg'. Is there anything else useful I could post?

Madison

Hi,
I've got the same problem. OSS works but ALSA doesn't. This occurred yesterday after updating my test release. Dmesg says following after trying to play mp3-file with XMMS with ALSA output:
