Unhappy Unneeded Useless toolbar

I have this tool bar that I put on my desktop in FC3 that I can not get rid of. It has pull down menus titled File, New, Bookmarks, Desktop, Windows, Help. I know that this is like an extention of the right click but do not need it and is in the way most of the time. I can not right click on it to modify it what so ever. I have been all through the help files on this topic and did not find anything that I could see that relates. Please Help.

In KDE if you right click the desktop...go to "Configure Desktop" then to "Behavior" the middle seciton is the "Menu Bar at Top of Screen"....disable/enable it here.

In a terminal you can run
Quote:
switchdesk kde
to set the default desktop

Thanx I do not know how many times I have just looked over that. But I knew it was what I wanted when I seen it as I knew it had to do with a Mac OS X style thing.

Now how do I make KDE my default window manager?

As Sailor said, type "switchdesk KDE" in the terminal. Other options include: GNOME, XFce4, FVWM, WINDOWMAKER, if they are installed.
