Multiple booting with Windoze xp and Linus OS

hi guys,

PLEASE i need some help,

i have Windoze xp,Xandros OS(Linux) and Fedora installed on one 80 gb hdd.Now i'll explain the order i installed them and what its doing

Firstly i installed Windoze xp....its on FAT32 file system

Then i installed Xandros 3 OCE .....its on Reiser file system

Then i installed Fedora Core 3 ....its on ext3 file system

Now the way i have my hdd setup is this

1 x 5gb partition for Windoze installation...(C drive)
1x 5gb partition for Xandros
1x 5gb partition for Fedora
1x 800 mb swap partition
and the rest is storage space.... about 60gb.....(D drive)

Now when i boot my computer it is coming up with all the rest EXCEPT Fedora

It is listed in the boot manager which is in the Control Center of Xandros BUT does not show up as an option in LILO when the computer boots. It recognises that its on hda7 in the boot manager but nowhere to be seen when the computer boots up

Now i know u going to say try re-load Fedora but i have done that twice already and installed grub but still with no success.I told it to use grub and added the other OSs in but still won't play my game

DOES anybody have any suggestions??

Chris

You're using the lilo from xandros (installed by xandros)-so you need to get that lilo to recognize FC3.
I realized afterwards that your post was in the link I included but the solution there seems
to be the answer.
You might also consdier installing grub which is easier to add other OS's/distros to IMO.

I have it sorted.I edited Lilo after doing a re-install of Fedora.BTW HOW DO you edit Grub for future reference....i was going to try that but didn't really know how

Just take a look at that very same thread and that was my solution

Actually that how-to is excellant if you have modified your partition table.
I find it's easier to edit grub's menu.1st and I 've done this recently when I added xandros OCE
3.0.
I made a new partition, installed xandros and then booted into fedora and just added the xandros entry to menu.1st. ( I muti-boot 8 distros ) having the installer add the loader( either grub or lilo ) to the partition also allows me to chainload e.g. the xandros entry in menu.1st looks like this:
title Xandros 3.0
rootnoverify (hd0,1)
chainloader +1
In searching I found that red hat had a grub.conf file but my FC3 definately has a menu.1st.
