Unhappy Using a USB TV Tuner TOTAL NOOB!

Hi there, I'm new to this Linux thing, and I haven't a clue where to start.

I've got an Artec T1 USB TV Tuner and want to use it in Linux.
All the things I've found by Googling just leave me very confused.

Can anyone offer any help?

KDE version: 3.3.0-5 Red Hat
Kernel: 2.6.9-1.667
Machine: i686

Thanks!
Chris.
