What output did you get from the make command?
Did you restart the services it asked? What was the ouput?

Are you *sure* you want the HPOJ driver, and not the HPIJ (sp?) driver?

schlongsalami, in order to use the card reader on fedoracore3's Photosmart 7960, he has to setup hpoj or use hplip (which isn't part of FC yet). Hpoj is a part of FC3, and should be on one of the four installation cds. If you don't have it there, then you can always download hpoj from Fedora's download server. Look for hpoj-0.91-9.i386.rpm. Once you have hpoj-0.91-9.i386.rpm, open a terminal, cd to the directory where you downloaded hpoj-0.91-9.i386.rpm, su to root and type rpm -ivh hpoj-0.91-9.i386.rpm. This will install hpoj onto your system.

I followed instructions completely and went to the Fedore download cite, found hpoj-0.91-9.i386.rpm and sent it to my desktop/john folder. I then went there became root and tried to rpm it. Nope. I DID however click on the download in the folder which alledgedly installed it in me system after putting FC3 disk #1 in the cd reader.
Didn't make any difference. I still can't get the printer script to see the new driver, the printer won't print and unplugging, restarting rebooting, replugging restarting and every other permutation you can think of makes no difference. As far as I can see the dumb thing is not installed no matter what rpm says. The printer thingy doesn't see it and I don't know how to show it.
I give up.

Just for the heck of it I tried again to rpm the download and it tried where it would not before. Says it's already there.
Hmmmmmmmm.

Followed a step-by-step to get it configured into the printer system-
Appeared to happen (no error messages.)
So why doesn't it show up in the queue?

Code:
[john@localhost ~]$ su
Password:
[root@localhost john]# rpm -ivh hpoj-0.91-9.i386.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
        package hpoj-0.91-9 is already installed
[root@localhost john]#

I have done a little searching around, and the file /usr/share/doc/hpoj-0.91/index.html gives you instructions on how to setup hpoj on your system. Be sure to check out /usr/share/doc/hpoj-0.91/setup-connect.html for a quick guide to setting up hpoj.

ESCHENG got back to me saying that the only driver that would work was HPLIP since this is a USB connect all-in-one. He gave me a link to get it and I downloaded and installed it.

The system hung just at the point that CUPS was being re-started in the terminal.

HP had directed the installer to visit a website that I tried but was denied addmittance to.

Three days on this lump and I still can't print!

The alledgedly installed driver doesn't show in the printer config box so you are left with two drivers neither of which can work with this printer. There are a lot of these HP K80xi printers out there. I was ok with the unit while on MDK 10.1 but just don't see why it is that it won't work on FC3!

I am now resigned to the fact that I can't use FC3 to print and go to MDK 10.1 to get it done.
Frustrating-
