Wireless problems IPW2200BG

I tried to ge my wireless running and topping with some issues.
I run the following:
kernel-2.6.10-1.770_FC3
02:0d.0 Network controller: Intel Corp. PRO/Wireless 2200BG (rev 05)

I installed via rpm -ivh the following:
ipw2200-1.0.0-23.rhfc3.at.i386.rpm
ipw2200-firmware-2.2-5.at.noarch.rpm
2200-kmdl-2.6.10-1.770_FC3-1.0.0-23.rhfc3.at.i686.rpm

The problems are the followig:
When booting the system, I get the following message:
eth1: cannot change name of lo to eth1. Device or resource busy. cannot change name of lo to eth1. Device has a different MAC address than expected.

Aditionally I installad and activated NetworkManager and NetworkManager-gnome. Despite receiving the same error message as above when re-booting, I am able to connect to wireless network!!!!
This entire process changes some other parameters coz my ethernet card stops working.

Setting of athe wireless card are: Automatically obtain IP address
Mode: Managed

Any ideas?

thx for the help

And the statement ifup eth1 gives the following output:

Not sure if this will help, but I got that error the first time I installed my IPW2200 drivers. I believe I got it because I had the wireless card turned off (FN-F2 on my laptop) during the first reboot after installation when the hardware detection occured. I just deleted the device using network manager, reinstalled the ipw drivers and rebooted and was fine.

As the above poster said remove the drivers all 3 rpms then reboot
install the 3 rpms then try a iwlist scan
then NetworkManagerInfo

From what i understand, (Not sure tho) NetworkManager creates its own config files and reads them instead of the network scripts

I had some problems setting up my wireless too. Took me roughly 8 hours, and the answer was simple. Network Manager. That is the only way I can get the wireless card to work. Couldn't figure out how to get linux to boot both the wireless, and ethernet card from the start. If I boot without a LAN connection, and use Network Manager, it switches to the WLAN and it works. When i plug in a cat 5 cable, it switches to the ethernet connection. But sometimes my apps hang as it changes IP, any reason, any one have ideas how I can get both to start at boot???
