Intel 915 Graphic drivers?????

Hi there,

I have a toshiba laptop and i´ve installed Red Hat 9. The default graphic driver is VESA generic because the red hat doesn´t recognize the Intel 915 driver.
With the VESA driver i cannot choose 1024x768 resolution, and the icons size is very big.

I´ve download the Intel 915 driver from intel webpage and the rpm.

The driver file is : i915graphics.tar.gz
The rpm file is : dri-i915-v1.1-20041217.i386.rpm

Could anybody help me telling me how to install step by step it, even telling which files i have to modify and which parameters i have to modify.

Cheers,

Pedro

That chipset is now supported under the 2.6.11 kernel.

Though you will have to upgrade to Fedora Core 3 or better to easily use a 2.6.x kernel.

In my opinion, I would upgrade to the FC3, release, and install a new 2.6.11 kernel.
