post-install updates?

Hi,

Fedora Core 3 is now installing on my old laptop, an IBM R31. Is there anything I need to do post install (e.g. update Kernel/etc.) or is there a function that I can use to update everything.

Sorry guys if this is a stupid question, I'm a n00b wanting to see what linux is all about...

You can use yum, which is kind of similar to the windows update tool, only insanely more powerful.

See www.fedorafaq.org/#installsoftware (in fact, read the entire www.fedorafaq.org website)

If you want to know a bit more about the methods for installing and updating software in fedora, read this thingy I wrote: http://foolish.fedorausers.org/rpm/index.html
