Screen resolution not saving

Hi All,
I'm a newbie to Fedora and a newbie to Linux but am loving it!

I'm having a problem with saving the screen resolution for my monitor. I find that it defaults to a refresh rate of 75Hz, but at that rate, there are some problems with the display. If I set the resolution to 60Hz, everything looks fine. Trouble is - I have to set this every time I log on as it doesn't save the setting despite checking the "make this default for all etc..." box.

Does anyone know where the particular file is where this is stored? I've been looking and "grep" ing for days, but can't find it.

My monitor is a Samsung 191T. This wasn't a choice in the montor selection at install so I chose Samsung 191+.

Thanks,

Alan.

Thanks, I did find that, but I don't see anywhere there where the refresh rate is set - just the available options.
Here are the relevant parts of that file on my machine:
Code:
Section "Monitor"
	Identifier "Monitor0"
	VendorName "Monitor Vendor"
	ModelName "Samsung SyncMaster 191+"
	DisplaySize 380	310
	HorizSync 30.0 - 81.0
	VertRefresh 56.0 - 75.0
	Option "dpms"
EndSection

Section "Device"
	Identifier "Videocard0"
	Driver "radeon"
	VendorName "Videocard vendor"
	BoardName "ATI Radeon 7000"
EndSection

Section "Screen"
	Identifier "Screen0"
	Device "Videocard0"
	Monitor "Monitor0"
	DefaultDepth 24
	SubSection "Display"
		Viewport 0 0
		Depth 16
		Modes "800x600" "640x480"
	EndSubSection
	SubSection "Display"
		Viewport 0 0
		Depth 24
		Modes "1280x1024" "1280x960" "1152x864" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
	EndSubSection
EndSection
Sorry if I'm being dense here, but I don't see where that setting may be .
Any idea why it is not saving the setting through the GUI? It's the same whether I'm logged on as root or user.

Alan.

refresh

Limiting the range of refresh rates in VertRefresh worked for me!
