Red face No matter how many pluses, it never goes up

the title is in reference to my rep points.

people keep giving me positive points but the value stays at 19.

reminds me of a song actually.

nah-nah-nine-teen.... nah-nah-nine-teen.... nah-nah-nine-teen.... pure energy....

I'll just keep this short, since it's been covered before (search 'reputation'), but until a new member has posted a number of times, his positive recommendations don't add to your point score. Just appreciate the positive comments for now, the points will come in time (and they still don't get you cash rewards or frequent flier miles anyway).

It should be sticky then.

I forgot. It's vBullentin software and the default setting is stupid and lame. So if someone new is helped and you are new and you help him, you get squat for helping him because he's new. Makes perfect sense. Stupid Jelsoft mentality. How the heckle are you supposed to get good points only from people that have been here forever? What's the point of the system if new people are nothing? They suck as far as I am concerned. They are number one because they entered the forum market at just the right time. They have millions of forum sites using this crappy software with no logic to the toolbar and the point system.

User CP and Quick Links ?

How come User CP isn't a drop down with all the stuff that hangs off of quicklinks under User CP ?

Yea, yea, someone will say I don't know the software, but you are wrong. I'm a registered member of vBulletin and I have the software and the manual. They need to revamp many things but they don't because they don't want to confuse people with changes. Not realizing of course that people are confused already so it won't change it for the worse if they fix it.

I could go on and on but it just goes back to what I said in another thread. The point system is a joke.

So the only way to show kudos is to post a thread with a thank you since your rep addition to someone else counts towards some ratio, blah. Just like the colors... Green, Gold.. points per... Sounds like stars you get for grades in Kintergarden, doesn't it?

Perhaps when you and I make up the next system in some future time and in some other Forum, we'll do things differently. Again, search 'Reputation + points' for how this works, who has recommended what and the responses..... Ah, I see you've already done that. So now you know.

Talking

ROFL

AHAHAHAHAAHAHA

L A M E

someone here gave me a bunch of negative points.

oH I am so hurt!

For people that care about such things I suppose it will mean something.

Maybe the person that gave them to me is also like those who take kicks in IRC seriously or maybe they have become unglued. Or maybe they like the revenge game which is what negative points are used for.

Maybe it was the religious person that said I was damned. Perhaps he doesn't believe what Jesus said. Something about the other cheek if I remember correctly. Or pray for those who persecute. OR feed thy enemie so that you heap hot coals on their heads in guilt.

I studied whomever you are. For a long time. I know that novel more than Linux unfortunately.

But that's off-topic. I find the point system rather amusing either way because it doesn't tell anything about the person's qualities or abilities. People may 'pad' someone's 'score' over time...

Welp, that's all about that... just posting a note about the goings on with me and the constant persecution from losers who think that stuff means something to me. As I said before, the red gun in my Compaq monitor went out so I can't tell what eolor they are.

I'm thinking of changing to grayscale too. lol

strange 'cause they stoped at 10.

Maybe they thought you should start from the begining... just like a new start...
Anyway, the most important thing here is the help brought to the members/guests of this forum. Important is what you know and share and not the number of points you may get.

Let's lock this thread and go back to "work". There are many questions in the "New posts" section which are waiting for answers.

A nice day to all!
