unneeded modules after install

The FC3 install included a number of functions/modules that I do not need, i.e., pcmcia, raid, etc.

Since these were included as 'modules' and not installed in the kernel, can I just remove all references to the items I don't need from all the init scripts to stop the processes from being started? Or do I have to get the kernel source and re-configure the kernel.

Thanks
Joe

if you're in kde, go to your start menu, select system settings ---> server settings ---> services
you will then be presented with a list of services that you can start/stop , enable/disable at boot.

unneeded modules - thanks

Thanks,

While reviewing the services' list I found a number that I don't need running.

The boot is a little cleaner and a little quicker.
