router to Fedora Core 3 and XP

hi,
i want to bay a router for internet ADSL connection and to use it both Fedora Core and Windows XP.
Can i do it with only a network interface?

Are you asking about Networking interfaces on the router or the computers? You only need one NIC (Network Interface Card) in each machine. The router needs one port for each machine(unless you hook a hub or switch up to it) and one for the ADSL modem. Typically routers come with 4 ethernet ports for attaching devices and one network interface port for the broadband connection. The above applies to either Windows or Linux.

hi Harryc,
I'm asking if I can use same port on the router with Fedora or XP.
If I set the router , is this setting right both XP an Fedora?

Yes, the router does not care if you are running XP or Fedora. You can hook either up, or both at the same time if you have enough ports.

You can use almost any router....belkin, dlink, airlink101....
