Trouble installing wine

Hi

I am having difficulty understanding why wine wont opperate on my system.

I down loaded the recent wine rpm from the down load site....it seems to install fine....in addition i installed the tool kit. As well it seems to load up fine. However i get no graphical interface or icon of anytype from eigther to let me know its working.

Just out of interest i put in a cd and it couldnt get the exe to start.....This leads me to believe that i have done something wrong.

Is there a how to or instructions as to the installation?? my goal is to get flash installed

Hi DoorGunner,

You start Wine in a term with a program name, like such

wine setup.exe &

That will run the setup.exe prm from the CD (assuming you have cd to the hdc.

After insalling the pgm, to execute it

wine myprogram.exe &

The program will start up in a new window (assiuming you have cd to /.wine/Program\ Files\/Mypgmfolder/

Flash? For the IE6? Start IE like above ,

wine ie6.exe &
The load flash over http.

Go to www.winehq.org and look up stuff for running and installing.

I guess part of my problem was that i didnt run the winetools....(OOPS)

I ran wine tools and cannot get the dc to recognise wine

the last time i had it installed i was able to load palm pilot software...nnow i cant do this?
