Points and Reputation

I just learned a few days ago (by complete accident) about how to go to the User Control Panel to see recently garnered feedback and really thought it was great. It was nice to be able to see what some people had to say about comments and solutions I'd offered. The only question I have is that the points don't seem tied to responses, i.e. sometimes I get feedback, but no points. Not that I'm a complete karma whore, but I guess I don't understand exactly how the point/reputation system works. Anyone who would care to explain understand it any better? Perhaps it would make a good entry on the Forum FAQ, unless somehow I missed it there (and I really did look ).

Anyway, I think it's a great idea in this context, and I enjoy reading the comments. Thanks.

From what I've gathered, the markers indicate the following:
Green: your reputation has been increased
Grey/Blue: your reputation neither went up or down
Red: your reputation has been decreased

What I don't understand though is how one can give neutral feedback with a radio button setup corresponding with only positive and negative. I used to think that members with low reputation couldn't effect someone with high rep, but I no longer think this is so. I'd be interested in finding out.

Don't really know the statistics, but until a member has a certain number of posts, his positive feedback will show neutral. I think it might be 10 posts. As I recall, there is also a number of positive feedbacks, perhaps 50 before you can give a particular member a second positive feedback. If you are really interested you could just put 'points' in the Forum search and I think you'll find the accurate information.

LOL, half the time I get neutral feedback, and the comments are positive.

I think the javascript window for feedback might need to be re-sized.......
