Remove ALL icons from gnome desktop

I imagine this has to be possible somehow, but I can't google up anyone's solution (most people are doing the opposite, trying to get their icons back).

Basically, what I'd like to do is:
1) Remove user's home, Trash, and Computer from the desktop.
2) Stop displaying mounted devices on the desktop.

Anyone know how?
