Problems with aureal sound card

I`ve got fedora core 1 on my Compaq Presario, and a Aureal soundcard on-board. I dont know if it is an 8810, 8820 or 8830, lspci only gives Aureal. So, I`ve tried to install the alsa drivers and utils+lib. Still no go. I also installed the gnome alsamixer, but I only get an error message. The sound card detector couldnt find any cards. If i try pushing the speaker button in the corner, i only get: Cant find: /dev/sound/mixer. When i ran alsaconf i got:

No supported PnP or PCI card found. would yo like to (...........) probe (.....)

(I`m not able to copy, so this will do)
I pressed yes, got to know that this might make my system unstable, i dont care, i want sound!, i pressed yes. and this came up:

No legacy drivers are available.

I`m completeley lost!

Well, unfortunately, I don'y think the card is supported. As described n the link below, Aureal have gone out of business and never released there hardware specs to the open source market. There's also a link to the aureal sourceforge project hosting drivers you might like to try. But as you can see by the last release date, (Jan 5 2001), development has died..
