fc3, php wont access file

Acessing a text file with the standard apaches/php installation wont work. It just fails evertime. Other php in the html file works fine.
The identical php script callefd from the command line works fine. - #!/usr/bin/php


Its a wierd problem that i havent been able to solve, & neither has anyone else. I have tried it while logged in as root and changed the permissions of the files concerned, without sucess.

I had given up a while a ago but decided to ask here in case it was fedora specific or i might get lucky.

Any ideas appreciated.

Look for the following lines in your "/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf" file. These lines "enable" the php module, and tell apache which files to "process" using php.

LoadModule php4_module modules/libphp4.so
AddHandler php-script php
AddType text/html php

Only the file access part doesn't work? That suggests permission problems, though you said you changed them already.

Have you looked at the error log in /var/log/httpd? Could be useful.

Which php function are you using?

Thanks for the responses, i reinstalled over the weekend because usb had gone dodgy as well and its all working fine now. It must have been some unusaul thing i affected. Though i nevr thought of looking at the logfiles. Thanks
