don't know about the "technical way" but there is an easy way, upgrade to:
switchdesk-gui-4.0.1-1.1
switchdesk-4.0.1-1.1

Using both Yum and Apt, I could not install these two programs. Can someone take me by the hand or at least point me to a site on how to add XFCE4 and Fluxbox to the desktop switching option. Both have been installed. It's been a long time since I looked at XFCE and the latest version looks very promising. I'd like to add it to my choice of DEs. Thanks.

Hello everyone!

This page explain how to do, worked nice for me!
http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedor.../msg03905.html

My next problem is to set XFce to standard manager, but I'll try to download switchdesk gui and se if that work.

Good Luck!

Making XFce4 as default

Hi, there are two steps:
1. at prompt make an "switchdesk KDE"
2. You get a ./Xclients and a Xclients-default. Edit the ./Xclients-default and change the phrase "exec startkde" with "exec startxfce4"

Relogin and you are in XFce4.

Greetings, Basti
