Hey team, got a problem:
have a hp psc1210 multifunction which is supposed to be fully supported by hp (yay!). followed the directions here:
and when i get here in the cups admin page:
# Click Add Printer.
# When prompted, enter the root username and password.
# On the configuration page, do the following tasks:
1. Enter a meaningful name for the printer in the Name box.
Note: The name you enter must not contain spaces.
2. Enter a description of the location of the printer in the Location box.
3. Enter a description of the printer in the Description box.
4. Click Continue.
# From the Device drop-down list, click hp:/usb/[printer name, serial number].
For example, "hp:/usb/hp_deskjet_5600?serial=MY31R1K02179".
no hp:/usb/* appears. I can add the printer and i can print a test page. the hp device manager does not work though and xsane detects no scanner device. help!
