Question Bluetooth dongle not working on FC3

Hey folks,

Ik got a problem with my bluetooth dongle. gnome-bluetooth-manager doesn't show any devices, and when i press "scan" it scans forever without finding my S55. (yes, it has bluetooth enabled, and discoverable).

dmesg says this:
Code:
Bluetooth: Core ver 2.6
NET: Registered protocol family 31
Bluetooth: HCI device and connection manager initialized
Bluetooth: HCI socket layer initialized
ohci_hcd 0000:00:02.0: wakeup
usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using address 2
Bluetooth: HCI USB driver ver 2.7
usbcore: registered new driver hci_usb
hci_cmd_task: hci0 command tx timeout
Bluetooth: L2CAP ver 2.4
Bluetooth: L2CAP socket layer initialized
Bluetooth: RFCOMM ver 1.3
Bluetooth: RFCOMM socket layer initialized
Bluetooth: RFCOMM TTY layer initialized
lsusb shows this:

Code:

Bus 003 Device 002: ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 1005:b113 Apacer Technology, Inc. Handy Steno 2.0 (256MB)
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
usbview shows the USB stick but not the dongle.

I really don't have a clue what's wrong here. I read a lot of stuff from people were bluetooth worked just out of the box.

I hope you guys can help.

CathodioN.

Make sure you have bluetooth started. There is graphical way to do this, I think it's called 'Services'. You can also issue the following command:
Code:
/etc/init.d/bluetooth start

No. Linux has built in drivers for that. Just run the service start command from cscheng and you will be just fine.
Then just connect the two. i.e. if its a keyboard you're trying to do, type
Code:
hidd --search
and press the connect button on the bottom of the board.
Presto changeo, it just works.

Yes I am using FC6 and XP, but I'm stuck with XP as long as games like C&C 3 keep shutting out the Penguin.
Yeah, I have no life, and consequently no money.
If I had more money, I would have even less of a life, because what computer I did have would blown my current one and yours put together out of the water.
