K3B 0.11.17 Troubles

Hi,
With K3b 0.11.17, I can do DVD copy, CD copy, write to CDRW, but I can't do this:
Write data files to DVD RW (even though it "sees" the DVD RW disc and recognizes it). It wants me to put a Blank CD in when I try to write.
In Create Audio CD Project, it won't let me drag tracks to the bottom window.....its grayed out, even though it "sees" the CDR and recognizes it is there.

I am logged in as "root"

DVDRW (Plextor 712A), tried Phillips, Sony, and Memeorex DVD RWs

Thanks,
Robyn

Just to let you know... I am using K3b 0.11.14 with a Plextor PX-716A (internal E-IDE) and have never had a problem burning anything on any media. Is it possible you could exchange your drive for the model I am using?

Just an idea.

what type of media

what type of dvd's are you using (dvd+ or dvd-), I have heard of many people that can't burn well to dvd+ type discs but dvd - will work correctly everytime. Try a DVDRW of a different type and see if it works. This is a problem with the linux dvd burning tools in general, not anything specific to any burning frontends.

I have tried both DVD + and -, 3 different brands. (this drive can write to both types) This drive works perfectly under XP Pro with Easy Media 7, so I don't think it is the hardware.

Thanks,
Robyn

I use Ritek with NEC drive for DVD+R exclusively, no problems with growisofs (K3B's backend)
