well, I just installed Fedora Core 2.
This is my first linux install ever and I am wanting to use this OS. I have a class which requires me to use unix, and I figure it'd help if I had linux installed...
Well...thats the background on my reasoning..
Now when I started up my computer the very first time after installation, I had three choices on my boot lader.
fedora....core..(smp)
fedora....core-up...
windows
So i loaded the core one first...it loaded fine...did its thing, allowed me to login, etc.
Then I noticed that I could only go as high as 800x600 on my screen size and it was bothering me, so I managed to change to an LCD(1024x780).
I rebooted and this time I loaded the second fedora boot.
This also did some things, allowed me to login, and working great. However, the screen res was still 800x600, except this time I had the ability to change the resolution.
I got a warning saying that I'd have to restart.
Well I did this, however a freind of mine called and I forgot to say which system I'd like to load and my computer automatically loaded windows(my default).
I had a few things to do, then I restarted and loaded the fedora OS.
It seemed to be going fine, but when trying to load the GUI, it just showed a blank/black screen.
I knew to press ctrl-alt-f1 to get to the otehr screen, and I can, so basically my problem exists in the fact that I have no GUI loading(i blv).
PLEASE help...I have a lot to do and I was supposed to have this working YESTERDAY(at the latest) and I'm already behind.
Thanks
Clark
