I have a USB Belkin mouse, which, if I update my kernel using the rpm method, gets lost in the shuffle the next time I boot after the upgrade. I finally stopped upgrading with rpm, and download a vanilla kernel from kernel.org, and roll my own, using the config file from my working kernel as .config defaults.
It's strange..... when I installed RH9, FC2, and recently, FC3 from disks, Anaconda correctly identifies all my hardware, including the mouse, and everything is cool.
But, whenever I update the kernel as a rpm download, like with apt, I'm dead in the water with no mouse. Rebooting back to the old kernel and rolling my own has been the only recourse.
Any clues?
Thanks for your feedback.
