Integration of KDE and GNOME

Hi,

from my first day with Fedora I have the impression that GNOME is favorized over KDE. However, as much as I wish GNOME would be as good as KDE (I love the look and feel of GNOME), I just can't get happy with it. I don't know, maybe I missed something, but I can't customize anything in GNOME. I mean, I can't even customize the most trivial things, such as if the window manager is supposed to draw window contents while dragging. Heck, even Blackbox can do that. The Window preferences in GNOME 2.8 allow me to customize THREE things. ^^
Except looks and stability, GNOME seems to be as bad as two years ago.

Okay, that being said, my choice will most probably KDE, unless someone tells me I'm wrong on this whole GNOME thing and maybe can point out how I can customize GNOME the way I can do with KDE (I really still hope so!).

My question would be:
Fedora seems to use some shared-menu system like Debian. At least the menu organization in KDE is not the default one. The problem is, it doesn't really fit the width of the Menu, so not all entries are completely displayed! That looks really ugly, does someone know how I can fix that?

Thanks,
Matthias

I'm the same. I want to use GNOME, but it just doesn't behave the way I want. I like the look and feel of it, but lack of menu editing, lack of colour customization and the fact that maximized windows don't expand to use the space vacated by manually retracted panels, keep me with KDE.

I read something on a review that said that KDE is the better desktop if you what to customize it, because KDE was meant to be changed and gnome really was not, what you see is what you get,, I like gnome to, but KDE can have a better look and feel if you like.
