Where R the Thunderbird mailboxes hiding???

I want to import my eudora mailbox on my Mac over to Thunderbird. Since they are both mbox format, I should be able to.

First I tried the "import" function on Thunderbird. It seemed stuck on some program Id never even heard of, wouldnt let me browse for the mbox folder Id imported via USB sneakerware.

My next thought was to just dump the old info into Thunderbirds mbox formatted input mailbox, but I cant find it!

Interestingly, I checked with a Thunderbird forum, all questions on the subject of mailboxes went unanswered from all queries. Is it so new that nobody knows anything about this?

If someone could help me find my Thunderbird inbox location, I'd sure appreciate it!

Thanks in advance,
Bob

first Micha, thanks for your prompt reply.

I looked at account settings, as you suggested. I see a path given for local mail folders, it's "/home/myhomefolder/.Thunderbird/xxx/mail/localfolders.

When I look in my home folder, I only see files that I have created and put there, nothing else. I read in a linux book that describes the filesystem that the /home/ folder contained specific configuration information on each user, and should be a key item backed up. But I dont see any configuration data of any type in my /home/ folder. Is there more than one by that name? (I do notice some names are repeated at different levels in the filesystem)

Im a newbie to linux, If you can shed more light on this, Id appreciate it,

Thanks in advance,
Bob

Folders and files beginning with a period (.) are hidden, so check your window/file manager to show hidden files.

Ex: in Gnome and FC3, in a Nautilus window (the file manager) -> View menu -> Show hidden files (Ctrl + H)

One good thing about Thunderbird is to use the global inbox, and to move your local folder in some place (e.g. /home/micha/emails).
