Need some laptop advice...

Well i found what i think is a good deal on two laptops, but im having some trouble decideing betwen them and if it is worth the extra 50 for the more expensive one.

what i am looking for in the laptop is mainly an all around good perfermor on a budget. Wont be doing any gameing on it or anything like that, battery lifetime is also a concern.

Well here are the links, let me know what ya think and if you also have some ideas around the same price range i am open to ideas.

I would get the second one, you pay less after the rebates and get more out of it.

If you dont intend to play any games it will be ok I guess but if you will I suggest you to get a laptop with nvidia drivers so you get 3d accelartion.

I purchased a compaq presario 2103/ amd 2800+/ 256mb (=512mb i added)/ 30gb hd/ ati radeon (which is a pain in the butt for 3d accelaration).

I bought two laptops from these guys and they both worked flawlessly. A big plus is being able to order them with no OS (no Windows that is).

those are deffently some sweet laptops, but cost to much =(

imdeemvp- good point on the nvidia idea, but to be honest i will prolly just keep useing XP on it, unless i can get the wireless to work with FC3 or another *nix distro. My main computer will prolly always run linux though. =)

Dog-One- Will deffently keep that site in mind for a buddy of mine who is looking for a laptop to load linux on =).

Thanks for input guys

Hypersonic-pc is another choice, alittle more expensive but the amd chip is better, and you can get a custom colour paint job on the machine. I want one so bad..
