    apache mod_watchdog

I had a working Apache configuration and didn't change anything in the last half year. From the 16th of july I get:

    [Sat Jul 16 09:55:44.862473 2016] [suexec:notice] [pid 453] AH01232: suEXEC mechanism enabled (wrapper: /usr/sbin/suexec)
    [Sat Jul 16 09:55:44.875291 2016] [proxy_hcheck:crit] [pid 453] AH03262: mod_watchdog is required
    AH00016: Configuration Failed

I did see that there was an update around that time:

    Jul 16 09:56:06 INFO
    Upgraded:
    httpd.x86_64 2.4.23-3.fc23
    httpd-filesystem.noarch 2.4.23-3.fc23
    httpd-manual.noarch 2.4.23-3.fc23
    httpd-tools.x86_64 2.4.23-3.fc23
    libsmbclient.x86_64 2:4.3.11-1.fc23
    libwbclient.x86_64 2:4.3.11-1.fc23
    mod_ssl.x86_64 1:2.4.23-3.fc23

Now Apache is not working any more. I have no idea where to start looking for this module.

Anyone has any idea where to look?

    Re: apache mod_watchdog

    [solved]

    I did a

    dnf downgrade httpd --allowerasing

    After that httpd started again.

    Re: apache mod_watchdog

    You don't need to downgrade.

The new installation requires mod_watchdog but won't replace /etc/httpd/conf.modules.d/00-base.conf so it installs the new one as /etc/httpd/conf.modules.d/00-base.conf.rpmnew

    mv /etc/httpd/conf.modules.d/00-base.conf /etc/httpd/conf.modules.d/00-base.conf.orig
    mv /etc/httpd/conf.modules.d/00-base.conf.rpmnew /etc/httpd/conf.modules.d/00-base.conf

    Now httpd should start normally.
