FC2 i8200 setup

Anyone have any hints on setting up FC2 for a Dell Inspiron 8200? None of the function keys (e.g. Setup, battery, CRT/LCD switching) seem to work now. I have the i8k module loaded (i8ktools from freshrpms.net). Also, it seems to really be chewing up a lot more power when on the battery.
