I am a linux noob, so I am probably just retarted or somehitng.
I am trying to get my geforce 6800 working in fedora 3, so I downloaded the drivers and installed them (it had to complile for my kernel). I edited the xorg.conf as it said to load Driver "nvidia" and Load "glx" and removed Load "dri" . Well when I restarted it gets stuck on the screen "Configuring Kernel Parameters" ..
I went in and changed xorg.conf to use the vesa driver again and got back in. Then I went into the /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old and it seems to get an error here :
(II) Setting vga for screen 0.
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Given color depth (32) is not supported
(EE) NVIDIA(0): *** Aborting ***
(II) UnloadModule: "nvidia"
(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.
Any idea on what I am doing wrong ??
Thanks a lot !!
