internal softModem under FC3 64 bit

Hi,
I have installed on my laptop (aspire 1522Wlmi) FC3 64 bit release.
I downloaded from SmartLink (www.smlink.com) the modem driver slmodem-2.9.10.
I have tried to install(make + make install) but I get some errors (incompatibility with x86_64).
The same modem driver works perfectly under FC3 32 bit version and I can use the modem (it's an internal 56K softmodem).
Is there the possibility to use this modem driver under 64bit version of FC3?
Any other suggestion? (maybe other modem driver for 64 bit)
Thank you very much
thomas

I had same problem with USb modem

I tried to use USB connected SW modem with FC3_64 but the answer I got from smlink was that 64-bit is not supported. They didn't say that they won't support it ever, but at the moment it is not supported.

The problem which I had came up when I tried to compile the driver. Some modules that are linked are pre-compiled and the compiler used in that was generating 32-bit output. As far as I understand this cannot be used by 64-bit linker (atleast not without some tricks/mumbo-jumbo, which I'm not aware of). The linker gave me an error of wrong format in object file.
