Are you sure you burned your CD's properly from the ISO's? Did you check the md5sums? When you entered your bios, were both your HD and CD-Rom detected properly there? You've set your BIOS boot sequence to boot first from the CD, right?
Here's a good 'how to' for installation: http://stanton-finley.net/fedora_cor...ion_notes.html

If the BIOS does not recognize your Hard Drive and CD-Rom, the problem is not with Fedora but with your machine. Have you checked your IDE cables to make sure they are properly connected and have power? Also, have you checked to make sure that your 'master' and 'slave' setings are correct on each of the IDE's?

Well, you can go back into the BIOS and you'll find something like 'fail-safe defaults' and 'optimized defaults'. Use either of those to get back to a starting point.
I've got a couple of questons for you though. Is there any operating system on the Hard Drive right now? If so, does it load if you simply boot your computer? Also, please give us some specs on the machine. How much RAM are you running? How big is this HD (how many gig)? Are the HD and CD-Rom on the same IDE cable or on different IDE cables? Did the HD ever show signs of failing - bad sectors, etc.?

my comp had 10 GB HD with Win me on it and was working fine.
Its an old comp. more details i dont know much about...
Hd and Cd are seperate IDE cabels.
HD moves/spins [ i can feel it] but fails later...nothing happens on CD...?
i may try it again after changing the battery, i guess...i have to go and buy it now...

Well, you could test your HD. Since you have access to another machine, how about setting it up as a slave drive and seeing if it is recognized by that machine's BIOS and then testing it for errors. I'm not really sure that you need a new battery, since the mobo is working and you can access the BIOS.
If the backup machine does recognize the HD and you don't have errors, you really need to check all your connections.

That shouldn't affect you - you deleted in Windows, not in the BIOS, right? Besides, your CD-Rom and HD are on IDE cables, not PC cards. Now the time and date having changed on the BIOS are indications that the battery may be shot. Why not wait until tomorrow and pay a couple of bucks for a new one? Enjoy the rest of the evening.

i agree with you that it was deleted at WIN ME session , not at the BIOS...i will wait till i get the battery but u realise/know how the hand itches for computing[to set it up]...
can i take the battery from other comp and see if that's the culprit/problem?
hope u r still awake...

Actually, while you're messing about with the batter - just leaving the battery out and the power supply unplugged from the cord over-night should clear the BIOS memory (CMOS). That way, when you put in your new battery, your machine will come up "fresh."
