Why FC3 handles fan so well?

I was wondering why FC3 is working so well with my lappie (Asus A2500D, AMD Athlon XP-M 2800+).

I mean fan action, which seems to be problematic with all other distros I've tried with my lappie (SimplyMepis, Vector, Mandrake, Ubuntu...). None of the other distros can't handle fan right, the fan is running (almost) constantly. With FC3 there is no problem, fan kicks in at ~55C and shuts down at ~48-50C. Like it should.
Why is that? I've enabled acpi and even compiled kernel with acpi support, but that didn't help with Vector linux (Slackware based distro).

Maybe Fedora has a built in app to control that, off the kernel, unlike other distros. I don't know thats my guess.

With FC2 my desktop's fan whirs constantly. Probably some issue with acpi. Yet Windows slows it down. I don't get it.

Congratulations on your quiet laptop.
