Hello,
First of all Im new to Fedora so if this doesnt belong here, Im sorry.
A coupe of days ago I installed Fedora 21 on my laptop. I was very pleased so far but my screen behavior was pretty annoying. Screen was left ON when locked, energy controls for turning off screen were not working, closid lid not working properly and brightness funcion keys not working at all.
My laptop is an Inspiron N7010 with an intel i5 450M {Model: 8FWKSN1, Motherboard: 08VFX1}. I basically solved this issue using THIS INFO.
I hope this works for everybody with an intel chipset and have this on terminal:
Just run:Code:nhasbun@localhost ~$ ls /sys/class/backlight/ dell_backlight intel_backlight
And add: (File normally doesnt exist so this should be blank).sudo gedit /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf
Log out and Log In and brightness control should be OK now.Code:Section "Device" Identifier "card0" Driver "intel" Option "Backlight" "intel_backlight" BusID "PCI:0:2:0"EndSection
Steps used here are pretty much the same as seen on the original reference in case that site is going down.
I hope this helps and some feedback on this working/not working or how this info can improve in some way is welcome.
Regards.
