Exclamation Synaptic does not launch after pam update

I have FC3 running and use apt/synaptic to manage rpm on both a headless server and a notebook. I use VNC to connect to the server.
Yesterday i updated pam to version 0.77-66.1 on both computers. Since then, i cannot launch synaptic from a non-root user on the server but it works on the notebook. On the server, it does not ask me for the root password and print an error message saying that i need superuser rights to launch the program.
On both computers, SELinux is disabled. Any idea where i should look ?

I had the same problem when i installed Wine... I just uninstalled it! That worked for me... Maybe you can try that too...
rpm -e <package name> Try it, you have nothing to lose (I guess, but i'm such a newb! lol)

When i start synaptic from a terminal or from gnome, i get a gnome popup saying "ce programme doit s'executer avec les droits de superutilisateurs" which means "this program needs superuser rights to execute".
I have tried to uninstall synaptic with a rpm -e but no results.
