ALC1150 - Almost no sound (only crackling noise) - Z97 Motherboard

    Hello,

I bought a new motherboard (a Z97 one) and i have some problem with it.

I can barely hear anything, almost only crackling noise.
(I didn't have any problem with my old amd setup)

The odd thing is, the headphone jack from the front panel of my case work very well, but not the audio out in the back.

In Windows, the sound work correctly.

    Here some information :

    - Motherboard : Gigabyte z97x-Gaming 5

    - Audio Chipset : Realtek ALC1150

    - alsa-info.sh : pastebin.ca/2834299
(I was limited to 10000 characters long so i uploaded it there)

What i've tried so far :

I tried the workaround described here : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...x/+bug/1321421
    ( echo "options snd-hda-intel vid=8086 pid=8ca0 snoop=0" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/fix-sound-intel97.conf )
It didn't worked, but i have some parameters “ignored” :
    dmesg |grep hda :
    [ 6.871687] snd_hda_intel: unknown parameter 'vid' ignored
    [ 6.871689] snd_hda_intel: unknown parameter 'pid' ignored

    [ 6.882857] sound hdaudioC0D2: Line=0x1a

I also tried to disable the HDMI audio from my graphic card, still have the same problem.

    I also tried this :
    http://0xdeafc0de.wordpress.com/2014...65-alsa-setup/
(asound.conf file), it didn't worked too.

My fedora (20) just got installed 2 days ago, and up to date.

    I googled a lot, and i don't have any solution .

If somebody can help me on this, i would be extremely happy.

Re: ALC1150 - Almost no sound (only crackling noise) - Z97 Motherboard

    Update :

Well, i tried using the "Rear Speaker Out" jack (used for 4/5.1/7.1 configurations), and it worked.

Still it's strange, on my motherboard manual, it say that for 2-channel speakers, to use the "Line Out".

Well i'm gonna test if this work on windows, and if it's the case, i will edit the thread as "solved".

Unfortunatly, this don't work on windows, i don't have any audio this way.

After much thought, i have both working by using the microphone front panel jack.

Still, while it's work i think the quality isn't as good as the back standart line out... but it work, even if it's not that great since i don't have a headphone jack available anymore.

If somebody have a clue on what going on... :/
