Long shutdown (~1min): "A stop job is running for Session 1 of user..."

Hello

I have problem with my Fedora 20. When i want to shutdown system - it takes about 1 minute to power off and freezing on plymouth screen. But when i tap Esc key i can see, that system freeze on shutdown because:

Quote:
A stop job is running for Session 1 of user _user_name_
That process takes about solid 1 minute then shutdown is continued and latop is powered off. Before - system was shutting down in a few seconds.

I don't know what cause this issue - maybe system updates (i'm updating system once per week)? I can't trace what cause the problem - it just started, maybe someone know more about it

Try these commands
Code:
systemd-analyze blame|grep "A stop job is running for"
systemd-analyze critical-chain|grep "A stop job is running for"
journalctl -b -1
Try them without grepping too, if need be.

I had the same thing, and I think it is due to a defunct session. The session can't respond because it is defunct.
Sometimes we could appreciate more informative messages.

If I understand correctly, it's a bug in systemd:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archive...ry/016519.html (and the whole thread)
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1023820

From https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1073714#c6 , a workaround would be to manually run:
systemctl stop user@$UID.service && systemctl poweroff

Re: Long shutdown (~1min): "A stop job is running for Session 1 of user..."

Thank You All for responses It seems, that the problem is somewhere in systemd.

Quote:
systemctl stop user@$UID.service && systemctl poweroff
Ech, nothing changed

But - to avoid broken deps i've typed:

Code:
yum downgrade systemd libgudev1 systemd-python systemd-libs systemd-python3
Systemd was downgraded from 208-16.fc20.x86_64 to 208-9.fc20.x86_64 and it seems that everything is OK now - laptop is powered off in a few seconds again.

First serious problem with Fedora in last years I think that the next step to solve the problem will be to submit new bug on bugzilla. It's nothing serious after all but it can be frustrating on every shutdown.
